The first Leopard 2 tanks have arrived in Ukraine

Poland has already delivered its Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, marking the first time that other European countries have agreed to export the type of weapon.

At the end of January, European countries and other NATO allies agreed to release their Leopard 2 tanks to be used in the war between Ukraine and Russia.

It happened after Germany, which already produces these tanks, gives a license to anyone who wants to supply them to Ukraine, and it also has what it agrees to supply.

On this Friday, February 24, 2023, the anniversary of the start of the war last year, Poland delivered these tanks to Ukraine.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Poland, Mariusz Błaszczak, confirmed that the first tanks had arrived.

The country has agreed to supply Ukraine with up to 14 Leopard 2 tanks, which will be preceded by training for Ukrainian soldiers who will use them.

These tanks are known to shoot from a distance and help the army push back the enemy, while they also have technology that helps to know exactly where the shot is aimed.
