Europe Union has stopped the evidence that accuses Rwanda of using Pegasus

A technology expert, Jonathan Scott, has revealed that he is with the European Union Commission, in a journey to reveal the truth based on research, on the accusations against Rwanda of using the Pegasus technology to spy on different people.

Since 2021, the Citizen Lab, affiliated with the University of Toronto in Canada, which monitors international issues with Amnesty International, said that some people were listened to using the Pegasus software, developed by the NSO Group of Israel.

Among the 50,000 people who were targeted, according to reports by organizations such as Citizen Lab and Amnesty International and Forbidden Stories, there are 3,500 people from Rwanda.

These are accusations that Rwanda has denied, saying that it does not use this technology.

Among those mentioned is Carine Kanimba, the daughter of Paul Rusesabagina who led the MRCD-FLN armed group, who was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the attacks that the group carried out in Rwanda, killing people in the suburbs of Nyugwe forest, looting and causing permanent disabilities.

In his later research, the American Jonathan Scott showed that there are many lies in the reports and testimonies of various Kanimbas, which were given a position by countries such as the United States of America and the European Union.

In an attempt to pass, Scott announced that he could not be given a position by the EU Commission, despite his application.

He wrote on Twitter: “The EU Commission rejecting my request to listen to me and ignoring the evidence on the false allegations that Rwandan intelligence is using #Pegasus is inappropriate. We must be committed to clearing the name of Rwanda and I will continue to protest against this plan. ”

It is a request that Scott apparently submitted on January 18, 2023 to the European Commission as the main governing body of the organization, and it was sent to its Parliament.

Ignoring these strong evidences is considered as an attempt to continue justifying Paul Rusesabagina, the Europeans continue to treat him as a hero and ignore the crimes he was convicted of, and those involved in them, for their own benefit.

The 30-year-old Kanimba said that the Government of Rwanda listened to the talks he was having with the people of the United States of America, those in Europe and the officials of the British Government.

The girl, who was in front of the United States House in July 2022, said that her phone was hacked from the beginning of January 2021 until May when she was in the United States of America. He was admitted again on June 14, the day he met with the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Sophie Wilmès.

When the lies started to go out, Kanimba told the Members of the Commission for Investigation in the United States Parliament that he owns two telephones, one with a line in Belgium and the other one in the United States.

Carine Kanimba lied that she was being heard by continuing to mislead the public about her father’s actions

After an examination of his phone, they discovered that Pegasus was used on a phone in Belgium.

Kanimba said that his phone was imported from January 2021 and was an iPhone that used iOS 14 technology.

In the research he published, Scott said, “It is unlikely that he would have been able to use the technology before it was released. iOS 14.6 was released on May 24, 2021. This is a strong signal in the technology investigation report.”

He also said that Carine Kanimba was not on the list of NSO Group who made Pegasus as the person who was targeted through her phone.

He continued, “If Rwanda had a list of 3500 people that tracked their phones and Kanimba’s number was on the list in Rwanda, how could his Belgian number have been accessed by Pegasus?”

Scott wonders how Kanimba knew it was Rwanda and didn’t have a license plate.

The other thing that Scott discovered in Kanimba’s testimony in the United States Congress, is that he lost two serial numbers on the telephone that was intercepted, and no technological device such as a telephone or computer has two serial numbers.

He says that when he found out about the information, he approached one of the organizations that published a report accusing Rwanda of slandering Carine Kanimba, showing that according to the evidence, what they did was wrong.

Some of them replied that they were going to say that Rwanda has lost Kanimba. They approached him as someone they thought the Government of Rwanda really wanted.

It is something that has damaged the image of Rwanda, and one of the families is asking for punishment.

On May 15, 2022, Scott wrote to Carine Kanimba on Twitter, explaining that he is a Computer Science student who is about to get his PhD, doing research on cyber attacks.

“I asked Carine if I could get the evidence Citizen Lab took that confirmed her phone was hacked using Pegasus,” he said.

Six days later, on May 21, 2022, Kanimba wrote back and told her that he could send her a report showing that her phone had been hacked. That morning, he sent her a PDF document sent by Amnesty International. That post was on July 22, 2021.

Scott explains that he had read the document before, and that the so-called report on the crimes committed on the phone was a copy of the Amnesty International report on how the crimes committed on the phone with the help of Pegasus are carried out.

He found no real evidence whatsoever.
